Bach Philosophy

Dr Edward Bach, an English bacteriologist, homeopath, was the founder and pioneer of Bach Flower Therapy. He believed that any disease that shows up in the physical body, psychosomatic or physical, has its roots in the emotional state of the person and that, if corrected, will heal the disease. if emotional suffering was not addressed, it could lead to illness.
“Disease is in essence the result of conflict between Soul and Mind, and will never be eradicated except by spiritual and mental effort.”
Bach was dissatisfied with conventional medicine and became convinced that there must be a therapeutic system based solely on nature. He discovered that people reacted differently to illness, thus he wanted to treat the person as a whole rather than just the illnesses.
“The main reason for the failure of the modern medical science is that it is dealing with results and not causes. Nothing more than the patching up of those attacked and the burying of those who are slain, without a thought being given to the real strong hold.”
The Flower Remedies assist us in realizing our real selves, and as a result, we will discover our true purpose in life, which will lead to better health and true healing. He believed that our life somewhat resembles not only other people but also with trees. The Bach therapy consists of 38 healing plants that address various mental conditions. It is a simple science of observing plants and then observing ourselves, and taking the plant remedy resembling ourselves the most. The treatments assist the physical body in getting stronger, as well as the mind in becoming calm, this brings harmony to the entire body.
“The real primary diseases of man are such defects as pride, cruelty, hate, self- love, ignorance, instability and greed; and each of these, if considered, will be found to be adverse to Unity.”
The Bach Flower Remedies were created by Dr. Bach to be a simple self-help measure accessible to people from all walks of life. Towards the end of his life, Dr. Bach had written two books named Heal Thyself, after Know Thyself of Socrates, and The Twelve Healers and Other Remedies .He had refined all of his philosophy and understandings into those concise books. Heal Thyself lays out his philosophy and understandings of life, consciousness, illness, and disease. The Twelve Healers and Other Remedies provides a practical toolkit to help people achieve that inner space of connection and harmony by providing an introduction to the 38 remedies.
